Burglar arrested inside home

2015-09-01 06:00

AN alert Blue Security armed response officer, responding to a tip-off, arrested a housebreaker inside a property in Hillcrest last week.

Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said the officer was parked at a petrol station in Hillcrest at 3.30am when a member of the public advised him that he had just seen a trespasser jumping into a property in Inanda Road.

“Our officer immediately responded to the property where he heard screaming coming from inside the house.

“Upon further investigation he discovered a front window had been broken to gain entry. Our officer arrested the housebreaker while he was still inside,” he said.

He was handed over to the Hillcrest SAPS who attended the scene of the crime.

“We commend the person who took the trouble to inform our officer of the crime in progress and the bravery of our officer and the police who responded swiftly to ensure that the perpetrator was brought to book,” he said.

“We hope this sends a strong message to criminals that the community, security companies and the police are determined to act together to fight crime to make our suburbs safe again,” he said. - Supplied.

We have been taught that we need three meals a day in order to make it through the day and while most of us indulge in more than our fair share there is a large portion of South Africans who are living off barely enough to sustain them.
