AFTER 12 years of fronting South African rock-pop band The Parlotones, Kahn Morbee will be performing as K A H N on Saturday 22 August in Open Strings at Villa Brae, 16 Jameson Terrace, Kloof (Fields Hill).

Khan’s artistic and musical contributions on all seven of The Parlotones studio albums have received critical acclaim across the globe and his solo project is set to do the same.

K A H N attributes his musical influences across a range of genres and this is set to take listeners on a cathartic experience that lets one hold onto every lyric we associate with.

He is currently completing his first full-length studio album with Brendan Jury (producer) at the The Light Palace.

In 1999, he formed The Parlotones, a quartet who have headlined the 20 000-seater Coca-Cola Dome, and played in the historic 2010 Fifa World Cup kick-off concert to an audience of a billion.

The Parlotones staged an original rock theatre production, Dragonflies and Astronauts, which was broadcast live around the world in 3D via Directv and in 2D on Facebook.

Performing thousands of shows in countries around the world, The Parlotones have performed at many European and American music festivals with, among others, the Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons and The Cure.

The band also received the South African Music Award for 2006 - Best Rock Album for Radiocontrolledrobot 2007 - Best Rock Album for Stardust Galaxies.

Entrance is R150 and a full cash bar (or Zapper) will be available.

Doors open at 6pm.

Safe secure on-site parking is available, but limited, so please share transport with friends or get a shuttle or taxi.

Fresh home-made burgers and chips, vegetarian soup (for the cold Kloof nights) and roaring fires are on the menu. Share the magic vibes at Open Strings at Villa Brae, where music is at its best.
