Taxi and bakkie collide injuring 15

FIFTEEN people were injured on Thursday morning when a bakkie and taxi collided on Shongweni Road in Shongweni.

ER24 paramedics and provincial services responded to the scene and on arrival found the bakkie parked on the side of the road. A taxi lay at the bottom of a small embankment, upside down.

It was found that 15 patients, two from the bakkie and 13 from the taxi, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. There were no fatalities.

The patients were treated on scene and transported to nearby facilities for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is under investigations by local authorities. – ER24
