LAND Rover Durban-Envirosan-Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club held their AGM and prize giving on Saturday evening at the Durban Shongweni Club.

The gala evening paid tribute to players and administrators who helped the club achieve their successes of the season.

Villagers 1st XV finished in third in the KZNRU first division, closely behind South Coast Worriers and Jaguars RC. The cluband#039;s 2nd XV finished fourth in the first division reserve, and the third XV narrowly ended third in the fourth division. Villagers 1st XV went on to win the 114-year-old coveted Jnr Murray Cup, with the 2nd XV being close runners-up in the Keith Parkinson Knockout Tournament final. In so doing, the Upper Highway outfit can now rightfully claim the title of being the most successful Highway-based rugby club.

At the conclusion of the evening Villagers were treated to an exciting announcement by André Schrenk of Land Rover Durban. That the Dealership had taken the decision to extend its title sponsorship of Hillcrest Villagers RC for the next three years demonstrates its generous, loyal commitment to club rugby.

Villagers chairman René Missen, praised the cluband#039;s sponsors for and#034;making it all possibleand#034;... adding that without them, the club would never have had such a successful year.

Planning has already started for the 2016 season. Players interested in joining the club, can contact the club through its Facebook Page, or its official website. - Supplied.
