Alleged murder and house robbery suspect caught

2016-12-06 06:01

A 34-YEAR-OLD suspect is to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon for murder and house robbery.
It is alleged that on 2 June, 2015 at about 7pm five armed suspects held up the 38-year-old deceased, her sister and two children at gunpoint. The victims were ordered to lie on the floor while the suspects ransacked the house. Household items including cellphones and a shotgun were taken. The deceased, who was armed with a pistol, managed to shoot one suspect dead and the other suspects shot him during the cross fire.
The suspects fled the scene in their getaway vehicle that was parked outside. Initial investigations led to the arrest of the first suspect last year and is attending his case in the Durban High Court.
Through the information from the informant the Pinetown Trio Task Team was able to arrest the second suspect last week in Ntuzuma.
