HIRSCH’S Hillcrest recently went to the White house community care centre to make a donation of a Smeg gas stove. The White House Community Care Centre in Inanda Valley that takes cares of 50-60 abandoned, disabled, mentally challenged, cerebral palsy children and adults.

In addition they also have a feeding scheme for the gogos in the area on Tuesday, between 30-50 extra mouths. They are the only facility of this kind in Kwa Zulu-Natal and get calls daily to take more residents.

Adele Walters of the organisation said: “We rely on donations from companies and the private sector. As you can imagine our list is never ending.

“We have run out of space in our current buildings and we have plans for an additional 56 bed wing.”

She thanked Hirsh’s for their donation.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking care of the community by supporting The White house. Thanks to your donation of a five burner Gas SMEG Oven & Hob, our troubles in cooking department have now come to an end.

“It is so cost efficient with regards to the gas consumption that we will also be saving on our electricity bills,” she added.
