IN commemoration of Human Rights Day, Woza Moya the economic empowerment project of the Hillcrest Aids Centre is exhibiting the artwork of Kearsney and Waterfall College pupils, which highlight various human rights stories.

Pupils have transformed soapboxes into beautiful artistic human rights platforms with powerful messages. The exhibition opened on 16 March at the Woza Embo Gallery at 237 Old Main Road Botha’s Hill. Special congratulations to Grade 8 pupil Kellyn Smith from Waterfall College and Grade 11 pupil Warren Faxby from Kearsney College who won the prize for the best soapbox.

All the beautifully decorated soapboxes will be on display for the next three weeks, so you are encouraged to visit and to view the products available. Woza Moya in Botha’s Hill is one of three shops supporting over 1500 local crafters and it is the economic empowerment project of the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust.

All proceeds from sales will go towards the project.
