ENERGETIC, passionate, inspirational and enthusiastic are some of the words that describe East Coast Radio presenter Jane Linley-Thomas.

The mother of three said she always had dreams of being on radio and worked towards achieving her goal.

“As a child, I always listened to East Coast Radio and imagined myself being behind the mic one day.

“My career began at Red Cap
Radio some years ago and in 2003 I was employed at ECR. I am on
every Monday to Friday from 12pm to 3pm.”

She says since becoming a mother her priorities have done a 360.

“My past life of 4am bedtime after a party has come to a grinding holt. Now it’s early to bed and even earlier to rise. Every day is a new and colourful adventure.

“However, I feel that life’s so much easier as I am married to my best friend. He is the most amazing and supportive husband anyone could ask for.”

Linley-Thomas always tries to find a balance between her work and family life.

“I try not to beat myself up when things go wrong. Every day is a learning experience and we need to learn from it and move on.

“I also collaborated with Kagiso Media and launched an app called Mom’s Heart. This app is made for moms, straight from the heart.

“Mom’s Heart is every mom’s favourite companion. Streaming 24/7, and aimed at moms with children under the age of 10. It’s a fun, informative and safe space for moms everywhere to share stories, ideas and be pillars of strength to one another.”

Linley-Thomas says that women should be proud to celebrate Women’s Month as there is so much to be celebrated.

“We have so many titles - daughter, sister, mother, friend, wife, and so on. We should celebrate this and wear our titles with pride.

“Let us drop our walls and celebrate the dynamic women in our community. I would like to wish readers of the Pinetown Fever a happy Women’s Month.”
