OPEN Door Crisis Care Centre (ODCCC) in conjunction with a company called Aurecon blessed disadvantaged women and children with food, gifts, fun and lots of frivolity at the Christmas party that took place at Open Door Crisis Care Centre premises in Pinetown.
ODCCC founder Thora Mansfield said: “Children each received a lovely gift and Aurecon had taken the time to label each gift with the child’s name, making it so much more personal. As they came up to get their gifts their faces lit up as it would probably be the only gift they would receive this Christmas.

“Father Christmas, who was one of Aurecon’s staff, handed out sweets and welcomed them all with a booming ‘ho ho ho’ which the children loved.” She said that the children danced, sang and had a talent contest. “After all the entertainment and handing out the gifts from Aurecon each child and parent or caregiver was given refreshments.

“Parents and caregivers went away with substantial food parcels supplied by Sarnia Primary School. Our thanks and appreciation goes to Aurecon and Sarnia Primary School, there is no doubt this has made an incredible difference in the lives of men, women and children.”
