THROUGH their Compass Cares Happy Easter campaign, staff from Compass Medical Waste Services gave 1 300 children in paediatric wards at government hospitals around the country – KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State and Gauteng –  an Easter treat with the aim of spreading some joy.

According to head of corporate affairs for Compass, Carol Coleman, there are many reasons why we do projects like this. “Firstly to take a step back and reflect on how much we have and how grateful we should be,’’ explains Coleman.

“It also brings us together as a Compass team. Serving others is a very humbling experience and being vulnerable in front of each other makes us a stronger team.
Thirdly, and most importantly, we do these initiatives to bring some joy to those who need it most.”

“What we have experienced through our projects like the Container Ministry thanksgiving buckets, the maize meal distribution, the Compass Cares BeLoved campaign, is that the recipients are so grateful for what they receive but even more appreciative of the time, attention and love we give to them,’’ she concludes.
