CURRO High School will be hosting a fund-raising concert on 17 of March at 7pm for the Siyajabula Centre for abandoned and orphaned children.

The centre is in Molweni, in the Upper Highway and is home to 37 abandoned or orphaned children.

Siyajabula has been in existence, in various forms, since 1996. Eunice Mweli was teaching at a local primary school and took in two abandoned twins who, one day were simply never collected from school. From there, while working with local social workers, numbers grew organically.
Over the years friends from the local community have rallied around Mweli to assist her. A small house has been built, and various projects undertaken, but the current conditions remain vastly inadequate.

Curro High has invested their time, facilities and resources, including volunteer staff and pupil.
Door open at 5.45pm for sales of hamburgers. Hillcrest Spur has kindly offered to feed the children from the centre and will be additionally selling hamburgers an hour before the concert.

The concert will also feature two artists - Annalie Herbst-van Rooyen (opera singer) and Ct. Filip Kormuth (concert pianist and composer), who have kindly agreed to perform pro bono for this worthy cause.

The tickets are R80 (adult), R60 (pensioners and children under 12), R30.
