A GROUP of 25 science pupils represented St Benedict School at provincial level at the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists 2017. There were approximately 600 pupils in attendance, representing schools from throughout KwaZulu-Natal.

Four pupils attained gold medals, with Dhiya Dharampal, a Grade 9 pupil, winning a gold medal and achieving the highest mark in her category. She was also awarded the prize for the best and highest overall Central Region Winner for the Eskom Expo 2017.
Another four pupils achieved silver medals and six more achieved bronze awards. 
Dharampal studied the effect which different temperatures have on the surface tension of water.
She then went on to represent SBS at National Level at the Sustainable Development Expo which took place at the ICC in September. - Supplied.
