Family forced to help suspects during robbery

2017-03-21 06:02

A COWIES Hill family was lucky to escape an armed robbery uninjured when five suspects invaded their home recently.

Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said the gang pistol-whipped the resident’s son when he verbally challenged the robbers who had entered the home from the back of the property.
The incident occurred at around 4.30 am.

“Fortunately, he was not injured during the assault.
“The robbers held the family up at gunpoint, locked some of them in a room and forced others to load up their vehicle with their television and other valuables.
“The gang fled towards the N3 and the police later recovered the vehicle in the Mpumalanga CBD,” he said.

The Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime. — Supplied.
