From socialist to socialites

2017-09-12 06:00

THE joint Anglo-South Africa inquiry into the unethical practices of public relations firm Bell Pottinger is due also to intrepid journalism by our news contingent. The primary argument, apart from the monetary targets of capture by its clients, the Gupta family, was the racial overtones of such spin doctoring that occurred.

While the ANC is always reprimanding the many who stoke racial fires, the fact that its “partners” did the same shows the double standards of a party that came to power on a non racial ticket.

And, that Asians, first with the Chinese and now Indians, could be the partners in this socialist-turned-socialite elitist group, shows how far this one-time revolutionary group has turned full circle, leaving nation-building and poverty eradication on the back burner.
