EVERY child dreams of running around a toy shop and choosing anything their heart desires, and for Gillitts lad, Nikhil Govender, this actually happened.

The 10-year-old Winston Park Primary pupil said when he found out about the Nickelodeon Toy Sprint competition, he entered as many times as he could.

Nikhil’s mother Tracy told Fever that Nikhil was shocked when he was informed he had won.
“He started doing his ‘victory dance’ and started running like he was doing the Toy Sprint. Closer to the time of sprint he got nervous and excited.”

She said it bought back her childhood memories as she used to watch KTV and get excited when the toy sprint was aired.

“I am so excited for Nikhil. I used to watch KTV and think all those kids were so lucky to do toy sprint, and now my child has this opportunity.

“I think Nikhil deserves this as he is a very humble child. He did not even tell his friends about winning the toy sprint because he does not want them to feel sad.”

Tracy added they are also hoping to win the grand prize - a five-night stay at the new Nickelodeon Hotel and Resort in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for him and his family or friends.

“Our family has never been overseas and we will be so excited if we win the grand prize, especially for Nikhil because it is a children’s resort and he will meet all his favourite characters.”

She asked the community to vote for them.

People can vote for their favourite Nickelodeon Toy Sprint participant by visiting www.nickelodeonafrica.com and clicking on the Toy Sprint Vote banner. They will be directed to the Vote page where the 12 finalists will be displayed. If a user clicks on a finalist they can watch their toy sprint video. There will be a vote button next to each contestant to cast their vote.
Once they have voted, they will be directed to another page where they can leave their details for a chance to win a Nintendo Switch console.
