HEAVEN’S Kitchen has been in existence for several years, providing food for homeless and destitute people of the greater Upper Highway area.
Volunteers from all walks of life have faithfully provided this service every Thursday night at various locations in the CBD, such as the pavement area outside Tiger Wheel & Tyre, and more recently a church that had opened its doors to this charity.

The food, paper plates and polystyrene cups are donated.
A table is set up and these people are cared for by this group of individuals. No money is ever involved - everything comes from donations.

However, last week the NPO received devastating news that it was the last day the church premises could be used, so the team will have to revert to the pavement area outside Tiger Wheel & Tyre again, unless an alternative place is found.

According to the founder, Kayleigh Symes, the organisation assists the destitute physically and emotionally.

“It’s no longer just feeding the hungry physically, but fueling them spiritually as well,” she said.

“However, we are now in need of a location to carry out our service to society.”

Symes appealed to the citizens of Pinetown and surrounds, including churches and businesses, in the hope that a location can be provided for the team of volunteers to continue with this act of charity.

“All we need are premises every Thursday for one hour, this is all we ask. If you are able to help, please contact us.
It is our mission to feed and love the homeless and destitute in a broken society.”
