THE Hillcrest Villagers have 126 entries in the Comrades Marathon 2016.

Three members - Paul Marsh, Malcolm Cobbledick and Leon Steffens - are going for their green numbers, (when one completes 10 Comrades they get awarded a permanent number).

There are 47 novices this year. Christine Dhlamini is going for her 14th medal, Wilson Zondi and Thande Duma are going for their 18th medal and Ant Kenny going for his 19th medal.

Amongst the Villagers entrants they have Kevin Oliver who ran his first Comrades 30 years ago. He is running with his daughter Kim Kennedy in her first Comrades and his son Darren Oliver also running his first Comrades. Darren is arriving from the UK next week to be with the family and take on this amazing journey.

There is also a husband and wife team, Tyron Mitchelle running his back to back Comrades and his wife Christelle Mitchelle running her first Comrades.

Villagers want to wish all their Comrades runners the very best. “May they all achieve their goals.
