DURBAN Girls’ College 1st Hockey Team hosted St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, last week. Until this fixture both teams were unbeaten in the Coastals League so it was anticipated to be an intense and competitive game.

The fixture lived up to expectations, and was on a knife-edge right up to the final whistle, with Saints edging College out 2-1. Both Saints' goals were scored by Grade 11 pupil, Hannah Shirley. Halftime score was 1-0 to Durban Girls' College.

St Mary's DSG, Kloof and Durban Girls' College are to meet again having both won their respective regional tournaments and qualifying to play in the Spar KZN School Girls' Hockey Tournament, hosted by St Mary's, on 29 and 30 July. - Supplied.
