SUBSEQUENT to a charity race held last month, the Kearsney Striders raised a whopping R95 000 which was handed over to Hillcrest Rotary on Friday.

President of Hillcrest Rotary Fred Kroone said that the funds raised will be used to assist the less fortunate in the community. He thanked Spar and the Kearsney Striders for the effort put into this project and challenged other running clubs to do the same.

Grant Nicholls from Main Spar, who co-ordinated the projected, said that the five Spar stores that contributed were Richdens SUPERSPAR, Waterfall SUPERSPAR, Village Mall SUPERSPAR, 1000 Hills Spar and Hillcrest Kwikspar. “Thanks to all the volunteers and runners who supported the race,” he said.
