Kwaito duo The Durban Hustlerz launch album

A DURBAN duo called The Durban Hustlerz is a kwaito group that will be launching their debut album titled Imithandazo Yomashendela next month under D.O.C Records and in partnership with Rieco Bird Media. The group was formed by Nhlanhla Ngcobo, better known as Jay Dee, and Ntokozo Ngobese, also known as Stappura.

The Durban Hustlerz will also be working with two dancers who work in KwaNyuswa near Botha’s Hill, Hillcrest, Pinetown and surroundings.

According to Rieco Bird Media spokesperson Sibusiso Nzama, Ngcobo and Ngobese met while they were at school.

“Durban Hustlerz met at an Upper Highway school - Siyajabula High School - in 2009. Their appreciation and passion for music has kept them together for many years. The group believes that their talent is God-given because their music has changed a lot of lives in the community since they write songs about issues affecting the community.

“Most of their songs speak about respect, love and life. Durban Hustlerz have performed in many areas around KwaZulu-Natal. They deliver rocking performances which is enjoyed by their audiences.”

Nzama said the group have performed at various events including Ogwini Beach Festival, Mr and Miss Pinetown and other local events.

“Their music is produced at Botha’s Hill under D.O.C Records which is owned by Njabulo known as Dr Njabs Mpanza.

“They have shared a stage with other local artists namely Mlie and Khathu. Durban Hustlerz dream is to work with well-known South African kwaito and house music artists.”

The public should look out for Durban Hustlerz’s new album titled Imithandazo Yomashendela which will be launched on Saturday 1 April at Botha’s Hill in KwaNyuswa Qadi Community Hall at 10am till late.

“The entrance fee costs R20. The community should look out for artists who will be performing at the launch namely Mageba Tribe, Dr Njabs, Late Cameras, Cee Musiq and many more,” said Nzama.
