Make this Mother’s Day special with uShaka

2017-05-16 06:00

USHAKA Marine World will be sending a message of love to all our moms this Mother’s Day with a Sunday full of fun on 14 May 2017.

For all the mums out there, try your fins at a snorkel for only R50 at Sea Animal Encounters Island or enjoy a free combo ticket into Sea World and Wet n Wild if accompanied by a paying guest – that’s nada, gratuito, gratis, khulula.

To make mom feel extra special, the Warren Brothers will be taking to the stage at Wahooz from 12pm till 4pm.

Moms will also feel all fluttery inside with an enchanted butterfly themed Village Walk complete with a fun photo booth in the food court, to capture those special family memories. Plus, capture your best pose with mom and post your photos on to our uShaka Marine World Facebook page or Instagram using #uShakaLovesMom to enter our Mother’s Day competition which runs on 13 & 14 May 2017.

Now with a whole day to celebrate mom, book her in for some pampering courtesy of Mangwanani and Patdee who will also be open with an array of relaxing massages or allow her creativity to shine with henna body art. Moms will also be treated to complimentary chocolates, so be sure to spot Village Walk’s brand ambassador who will be handing out the treats. If it’s retail therapy mom is after, shopping has never been better, with tenants participating in the Village Walk side walk sale taking place from Friday, 12 May to Sunday, 14 May.

To complete Mother’s Day, why not treat her to a three-course Mother’s day lunch at Cargo Hold, featuring the very best and difficult choices in each course as well as complimentary cocktail just for mom.

Starting off, diners can choose between four starters - grilled calamari (peri-peri calamari, seasoned basmati rice and yoghurt sauce), strawberry and Haloumi (grilled halloumi, balsamic glaze and crème fraiche); pea and chorizo (pea soup garnished with chorizo sausage and croutons); cured salmon trout (Teriyaki cured smoked trout served with warm potato salad and whole grain mustard sauce) or vegetarian Cargo green salad (avocado, greens, sugar snap, broccoli, baby spinach, ginger and balsamic dressing).

Delicious main courses include line fish (simply grilled, spices, lemon, olive oil, French fries); Mozambican prawns (served with coriander pesto and orange reduction); beef fillet (carrot and cashew nut purée, roast vegetables and a bordelaise jus); chicken breast (roasted breast stuffed with mushrooms and pistachio, marinated vegetables with sundried tomato and reduction vinaigrette) or Saffron risotto (Risotto cooked with roasted bell peppers.

The three-course menu inclusive of a starter, main course and dessert will cost R345 per person while the two-course menu inclusive of a starter and main course or the main course and dessert will cost R295 per person. There are two sittings - 11.30am and 2pm. To book, phone Cargo Hold on 031 328 8065 or visit www.ushakamarineworld.co.za
