THIS year, to celebrate the love the community has for all animals, the Kloof and Highway SPCA have spruced up its “change cans” and will be relaunching the new red cans for 2016.

The purpose of the Change Can Campaign is to encourage the community to collect change and coins to fill the cans and return them to the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

The funds raised by this campaign are used to assist with funding the outreach programme, the aim of which is to reach out to the most vulnerable animals in poverty- stricken areas and provide primary animal health care, thus promoting the health and welfare of animals and therefore people too.
Pupils especially, are encouraged to take change cans home to fill up.

The Kloof and Highway SPCA education team will be visiting local schools this month to drop off change cans and will distribute the new red cans in every classroom to encourage teachers and pupils to add to them.

Change cans are also available at the Kloof and Highway SPCA reception, tea garden and thrift shop – collect yours today and make every coin count.
A special thank you to those who have collected coins for the animals in the SPCA’s care.
“We love what ‘change’ can do,” said outreach officer, Lisa Gadd.

How much food do you need to concentrate?

We have been taught that we need three meals a day in order to make it through the day and while most of us indulge in more than our fair share there is a large portion of South Africans who are living off barely enough to sustain them.
