Police warn public about site scam

2016-04-26 06:00

POLICE in the eThekwini inner and outer west cluster issued a warning to the public about fraudulent “sites-for-sale” advertisements.
Pinetown SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer BJ Manqele said the adverts are available online as well as in the newspapers.
"People are lured to make payment without viewing the sites and the deals are concluded over the phone. More than 10 victims have opened cases of fraud at the Pinetown police station relating to this scam.
“We urge the public to verify information and inquire from local authorities before they can make payments." - Supplied.
