JOHN Wesley School’s Grade 5 pupils, Lee Van Tonder and Shaalin Pillay, have been carrying the Bread Tag for Wheelchairs Campaign flag at John Wesley School since they were in Grade 2.
John Wesley School spokesperson Lilian Corden-Lloyd said their commitment to raising funds for wheelchairs has been commendable.
“They have collectively brought in over 10 000 bread tags so far. It takes 200 bread bags full of tags that are packed into 10 black bags or 200kg of tags to bring in enough money through recycling to buy one wheelchair.
“Lee and Shaalin encourage the Pinetown community to save tags and to deliver them to the school to help them with this worthy cause.”
