THE school year will start off on a good note for pupils from Hlalindlela High School in the Inanda Valley after Upper Highway resident Ken Clarke donated a scanner, photostat machine to the school.

Headmaster Mr Massango has 1 000 pupils under his care and the school was stretched for resources so the machine Clarke gave him will be well used.

Masango’s school achieved 89 percent pass rate in 2014 and he hopes to better that this year.

“We at Ken Clarke Properties believe it is important to assist those in our community who are less fortunate where we can.

“Mr Masango was quite overcome with gratitude and this really touched me,” said Clarke.

He said he lives by the motto, “It is more blessed to give than receive.”

“I hope that other companies and individuals in the area will follow in my footsteps and donate to those in need,” added Clarke.
