EACH year, Kearsney Striders Running Club hosts one of the first 21km and 10km run / walks road races of the year on the grounds of the beautiful Kearsney College. The 2015 event attracted a record crowd of runners all eager to test themselves on this very tough route.

A new initiative of this year’s event is that it is a charity event where all proceeds of this run will be donated to the Hillcrest Rotary for distribution in the needy areas of the Upper Highway.
It is estimated that a donation of approximately R50 000 or more is achievable.

This year the five Upper Highway Spar stores – Waterfall SuperSPAR (Shaun Quin), Richdens SuperSPAR (Rael Lurie), Village Mall SuperSPAR (Brett Venton), 1000 Hills SPAR (Jean Pierre Audibert ) and Hillcrest KWIKSPAR (Mike Egling) - have supported the event along with the SPAR Group.
The dates for the upcoming race is 24 January 2016 starting at 6am (first runners in at 7.15am).

Other sponsors are 7 Star , Cocorico Eggs, Georgies, Buco, Coca Cola and Kearsney College.
