THREE suspects aged between 24 and 32 were arrested on Friday 6 May for house breakings.
Pinetown SAPS communication officer Warrant Officer BJ Manqele said on the Friday at 10.24am the complainant (47) was at home with her gardener in Hayfield Road in Kloof when they noticed a silver VW Polo parked at the gate.
“The gardener went to the gate to ask the occupants who they were looking for and they said they were looking for a Mr Smith, and drove away.
“It is alleged that few minutes later the suspects came back and banged on the dining room door trying to force their way inside the house.
“The complainant pressed the panic button and suspects fled the scene. Police were then alerted and searched for the suspects.
“Durban Dog Unit members spotted­ the suspects driving in New Germany and called for backup.
“Other members arrived and the suspects were arrested, one of them was found in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
“The suspects are also linked to another­ case of house breaking in Minorca­ Road, Caversham Glen where the gate to the premises was broken.
“The suspects allegedly fled the scene when they saw a security vehicle­.
“When the police searched the suspect­’s car they discovered that it was a rented vehicle and the suspects­ had used false number plates.”

The suspects will be charged for housebreaking with intent unknown to the prosecutor. - Supplied.
