TOUGHEES, owned by global footwear manufacturer and retailer Bata South Africa, is calling on the South African public to identify 67 schools around the country that are in desperate need of school shoes for their pupils.
The public can recommend their school via the Toughees Facebook page using the hashtag #Bata
67Steps.

To commemorate Mandela Day and month, the school footwear giant is looking to assist 4 489 pupils from around the country.

“Our shoe brand, Toughees, has walked with school children for nearly 60 years.
“It has been the choice of shoe for those who walked a few metres and for those who have walked many kilometres just to get to school and have an education,” said Khutjo Madisha, Toughees brand manager at Bata South Africa.

“The campaign that we are embarking on is more than just putting shoes on feet,” said Madisha.
“It’s about giving children their pride back and giving them confidence to achieve their dreams.”

The school shoe brand has earned its reputation as a classic and it was originally designed to meet the needs of South African children.

In addition, Bata South Africa is also willing to support organisations that want to donate school shoes by extending a discount on bulk purchases.

For more information, you can go to any Bata retail store or phone the head office at 031 701 4951.
