THE Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust’s Plant Nursery is an economic empowerment project that supports local people impacted by HIV/Aids. Established in 2003, it sells indigenous and exotic plants and a variety of garden decor to the general public at extremely competitive prices. The nursery currently provides employment to five men who have been recruited and trained from the surrounding communities and also regularly supplies seedlings to the centre’s more than 30 community vegetable gardens. The nursery is centrally located on the centre’s premises at 26 Old Main Road, Hillcrest. Opening times are Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm and Saturdays from 8am – 2pm.
