JBay Open July 8 – 19

All the world’s top surfers will be back in town for the JBay Open of Surfing at Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay from July 8 - 9.

Music Festival: July 9 – 19

The fourth annual Winter Music Festival, set to blow music lovers away, will take place at Jolly Dolphin from July 10 to 18. The line-up includes Jack Parow, Matthew Mole, Shortstraw, Taxi Violence, PHFat, Desmond and the Titus and Grimehouse, as well as a directors screening by Jon Savage of the newly releases movie Stone Cold Jane Austen. Tickets are available from Computicket. Full week passes can be purchased at R260.

Oakley Celebrity X-Over: July 9 – 10

The Oakley X-Over in Jeffreys Bay will see the likes of Jordy Smith, Butch James, Greg Minnaar and Garreth McLellan compete in a unique cross-over event featuring mountain-biking, surfing and golf. The Oakley X-Over will take place at Impala Ranch MTB Trail, the Links Golf Course and the Lower Point in Jeffreys Bay from July 9 to 10.

Mountain Bike Open: 11 July

The third edition of the Jeffreys Bay Mountain Bike Open will go down on Saturday, July 11 - offering something for riders of a range of fitness and skill levels. The 2015 event will peddle off at Kabeljous Lagoon and feature three routes: 40km, 60km and 85km.

Skins Fishing Competition: 11 July

Anglers can ‘reel in’ R2 000 an hour at the third Jeffreys Bay Winter Festival Fishing Skins Competition at the Gap Kabeljous surf from 08:30 to 14:30 on Saturday, July 11 in aid of the E.P. Angling Association. The entry fee is R150 for men, R100 for ladies and R50 for children u.16. Tickets are available at all major tackle shop.

JBay X Trail Run: 11 – 12 July

The inaugural Jeffreys Bay Xtreme (JBayX) Trail Run is unique in concept entailing three individual trail runs, all starting 12 hours apart and showcasing the best of the Jeffreys Bay area.

Kite Festival: July 12 - 13

The National Kite Festival will take place at Kabeljous Beach on July 12 and 13.

Billabong Junior Surf Series: July 13 – 17

The Billabong Junior Series is set to take place at Magna Tubes in Jeffreys Bay from July 13 - 17. This three day event with a five day waiting period, is a new edition to the JBay Winterfest taking place from July 8 - 19 and will see the top surfers from Jeffreys Bay join the best juniors in the country.

Slake Funduro Moto-X: 18 July

Slake Adventures will host their third JBay Winterfest Funduro on Saturday, July 18.

Core Dwonhill Sokkie Jol: July 18

The Core Downhill Sokkie Jol will take place at Blue Water Estate on the R102 in Jeffreys Bay on the at 09:00 on July 18. Registration takes place at 08:00.

InFood Blu Open Water Classic: July 18

Everything changes in winter, however, as the water temperature drops to a chilly 12 degrees Celsius and the toughest swimmers in South Africa will congregate in JBay to take on the challenge of swimming the Infood Blu Cold Water Classic – a 7.5km swim, wearing nothing more than a speedo type costume, goggles and a swim cap. Only pre-entries are being allowed for the event due to safety considerations and swimmers can enter online via www.swimmingplus.com
