DIE regte hoeveelheid maalvleis en koljander . . . dís glo die resep vir wenner-boerewors.

“As jy ietsie van dít en ’n titseltjie van dat byvoeg, kan jy verseker wees om in die top rie in enige boereworskompetisie te eindig,” het Ayanda Dyanse (28) van Humansdorp gesê.

Dié supermarkbestuurder se boerewors het die afgelope naweek in die top drie in die gewilde Cham- pionship-boereworskompetisie geëindig.

Hy en twee ander deelnemers, onderskeidelik van Mpumalanga en Gauteng, wag nou om te hoor wie se resep die heel beste in die land is.

“Ek hou my oë op die rooi Toyota Hilux-bakkie – die eerste prys,” het hy vertel. “Ek hoop die Oos-Kaap se mense ‘sien’ ook hoe ek in dié bakkie ry sodat hulle vir my kan stem.”

Dyanse het as tiener sy skoolvakansies in die plaaslike slaghuis deurgebring. Dis hier waar hy die kuns van voortreflike ­worsmaak aangeleer het.

“Ná skool het ek in die slaghuis by ’n groot supermark begin werk waar ek dié kuns bemeester het.

“Vandag is ek ’n bestuurder, maar dis vir my lekker om so nou en dan my hande ‘vuil’ te maak in die slaghuis,” het hy gesê.

Volgens hom móét ’n mens in so ’n kompetisie seker maak dat die publiek heeltyd jou boerewors proe.

“Dís die eintlike geheim. Die mense sal self vir jou sê watter bestanddele jy nog kort.”

Die publiek kan tussen 28 Augustus en 10 September vir Dyanse stem. Sy bobaas-boerewors mag dalk net betyds vir nasionale braaidag hier beskikbaar wees
