Thyspunt nuclear power station EIR available to the public

THE revised Draft Environmental Impact Assessment Report (Version 2) will be available for public review and comment on the proposed nuclear power station and associated infrastructure at Thyspunt from September 23.

This report will be available until November 25 this year and can be viewed at the following public venues:

) Humansdorp Public Library

) Jeffreys Bay Public Library

) Kareedouw Public Library

) Kruisfontein Public Library

) Oesterbaai Eiendomme

) Sea Vista Community Hall

) Sea Vista Clinic

) St Francic Bay Public Library

) St Francis Bay municipal office.

Comments can be submitted in writing to Elisabeth Nortje, GIBB Public Participation Office, PO Box 35007, Menlo Park, Pretoria, 0102. Or send an email to publicparticipation@gibb.co.za.

Comments received on the revised draft report, will be used to produce the final Environmental Impact Assessment Report, which will then be submitted to the Department of Environmental Affairs for their consideration.

All interested and affected persons are encouraged to attend the public meetings where findings on the report will be presented and discussed. Public meetings will be held from 18:00 to 20:00 at the following venues:

) Oyster Bay Hall on October 19

) St Francis Links Golf Club on October 20

) Sea Vista Community Hall on October 21

) Newton Hall on October 22

) Humansdorp Golf Club on October 23
