AFRIFORUM in Jeffreys Bay and the Kouga Municipality have joined hands in the war against potholes in the area.

According to municipal spokesperson, Mfundo Sobele, this partnership will speed up road repairs in Jeffreys Bay, espeically around residential areas, in time for the holiday season.

“The organisation will bring in human resources in terms of labour and some equipment, while the municipality will provide the material,” says Sobele.

“The municipality welcomes contributions by any organisation in carrying forward the work of making Kouga the best place to live in. We have in the past worked with the St Francis Bay Residents Association on road repairs.”

According to Dolf Botha, AfriForum Jeffreys Bay chairman, the projects kicked off in Seetuin Road and they are currently busy fixing the potholes in Leadwood Street. From there, they will move towards Oribi Street and then Akasia Street.

“We rely heavily on donations from the public to carry the work forward,” says Botha.

For more information or donations, contact Frikkie Sutherland from AfriForum at 082 730 1309 or send and email to fcsutherland@vodamail.co.za.
