JBay gets emergency information centre

2017-06-15 06:00

THE residents of Jeffreys Bay now have access to a dedicated 24/7 service that connects residents with law enforcement and municipal officials.

A Community Information Centre (CIC) was launched in Port Elizabeth in June 2016 and since then has been instrumental in reducing crime in the areas it serves. On the back of this success Fidelity ADT has launched a CIC for the Jeffreys Bay and surrounds area.

It is operational around the clock, manned by dedicated and experienced Fidelity ADT operators who will log calls with the appropriate law enforcement agencies or the appropriate municipal departments. All correspon-dence and relative reference numbers are captured onto an online program which can be used for reporting purposes to community bodies.

“The CIC is the first step to improve the broader security within our community by providing a centralised resource to handle all crime related concerns,” says Fidelity ADT Security’s Branch Manager in Jeffreys Bay, Ryan Britz.

“The CIC is an innovative project which enables all stakeholders to communicate on the same platform; this includes local private security companies, SAPS, Neighbourhood Watches and Community Policing Forums. We are excited to welcome the residents of Jeffreys Bay to this network.”

The CIC in Jeffreys Bay can be contacted at 086 12 12 210.
