THE Jeffreys Bay Primary School is a dynamic, Christian school where professional teachers educate their learners in a pleasant environment with the support of an involved parent corps, thus providing learners with a holistic education.

The school is a parallel medium school where tuition takes place in English and Afrikaans. The school has committed itself to the extension of the language and culture in which the learners are taught. Tuition is based on Christian principles as founded in the Bible.

The school strives to create a safe, stimulating and disciplined environment for all the learning activities offered at the school.

It furthermore promotes physical activities, good health and fitness, social sensibility and sincere sportiness.


Jeffreys Bay Primary School was officially opened on January 1, 1919 - boasting 10 learners.

The first principal and teacher was Ms J.E.C. Buys.

The first school building was only constructed in 1924 at a cost of 150 pounds.

A new school building was erected in 1924 and currently serves as the J.E.C. Buys School Library.

Open Day

The Jeffreys Bay Primary School in St Francis Street will have its Open Day for Grade R and Grade 1-learners for 2017 at 17:00 on June 1, 2016.

Applications to enrol Grade R and Grade 1 learners at Jeffreys Bay Primary School, close on June 24.
