THE 2017 NMBS Junior Surfing Team is set to take part in the South African Junior Billabong Championships at The Point in Jeffreys Bay from October 3 to 8.

The competition will see the country’s best junior surfers from nine districts compete for the prestigious national title and team honours

The NMBS team, previously known as the Eastern Cape, clinched the coveted Freedom Cup for the team accumulating the highest points at the 2016 Billabong SA Junior Champs. They also claimed two of the six individual national titles at stake and provided five of the 24 finalists. They furthermore won the Spirit Award.

Three of the NMBS Junior Team - Joshé Faulkner, Dillen Hendricks and Kirsty McGillivray - were selected for the SA Junior Team which will travel to Japan in September 2017 to compete at the ISA Junior World Championships.
