IN celebration of Movember and men’s health this month, Pathcare at PoliClinic in Jeffreys Bay and Cansa encourage men to look after their health and help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

During November, Pathcare offers Prostate-specific-antigen (PSA) testing and occult blood tests at a reduced rate of R100 and R85 respectively. This special is only valid if payment is made on the day of visit.

Symptoms of Prostate Cancer

. Difficulty passing urine

. Difficulty in starting or stopping the urinary stream

. A frequent need to urinate, especially at night.

Reducing the risk of Prostate Cancer

. Annual screening after the age of 50

. Family history of the disease, regular screening after the age of 40.
