ST Francis College and Hermitage House battled it out on the field and in the chess room during the two schools’ annual two-day sports meeting on May 19 and 20.

They challenged each other in hockey, netball, rugby and chess.

St Francis College triumphed in seven of the ten mini-hockey games played.

The u.8 and u.9 St Francis netball teams won their matches, while the u.13 team lost 6 - 14. On the rugby field the u.13 seven-a-side rugby game was won by St Francis College (30 - 5), while the u.9 bulletjies match was a 25 - 25 draw, and the u.12 players played to a 10 each draw.

The u.11 hockey team from Hermitage House won their first game 1 - 0, and drew the second with 1 point each. The u.13 team from St Francis College beat Hermitage House 6 - 0 and 7 - 1 respectively.

Hermitage House took the overall honours in the chess front.

The next event on the sporting calendar is the Senior Primary Summer Tour to Addo on October 20 and 21 where learners will battle it out on the tennis and cricket field.
