RUGBY star Aswen Rademeyer (12) from Humansdorp is all booted up to represent South Africa in France and Spain at the end of the month - a dream come true.

Aswen, a grade 7 learner at Stulting Primary School in Humansdorp, forms part of the Riebeek Vallei Invitational Team that will travel to France and Spain where they will test their skills against some of France’s best rugby teams. They will furthermore participate in a training session and go on some excursions.

Aswen’s inclusion in the prestigious team follows after he was put through his paces at the 2017 Riebeek Vallei Tournament at Riebeek Kasteel Primary School in April this year, where he impressed the panel of professional selectors and was chosen for the final team.

Aswen, who plays fly half, will depart with the rest of his team members on September 27 and return on October 6.

Thanks to The Co-Op in Humansdorp who played a pivotal role in realising Aswen’s rugby dream by paying for his flight ticket to France.
