PLAASLIKE eiendomsagente is keelvol van vandale wat bykans daagliks hul skoubordjies òf beskadig òf steel.

Plaaslike eiendomsagent Jan Visser van Kopano Eiendomme in Jeffreysbaai sê hy en ’n groot groep eiendomsagente in die dorp is siek en sat vir dié misdaad wat hul ’n hele paar rand per bord uit die sak jaag.

"Ons verloor gereeld borde wat net eenvoudig van ’n eiendom af verdwyn, nadat ons toestemming van die eienaar verkry het om die bord aan te bring," sê Visser.

"Dikwels word borde uitgetrek en in die bosse geslinger, gesteel, beskadig, gate word daarin geskop of dit word uitgeskeur en vernietig. Die rame word ook gesteel en as skrootmetaal verkooop.

"Ons plaas dikwels drie tot vier keer ’n bord op ’n erf, maar as ons weer daar kom, is dit telkens weg of beskadig."

Hy is so moedeloos oor die diefstal en vandalisme dat hy voorstel dat die agente in die dorp as ’n spanpoging ’n beloning aanbied om die probleem hok te slaan, asook om die skuldiges aan die pen te laat ry. "Dit sal baie help as ’n foto van ’n oortreder geneem kan word, wat as bewys kan dien," sê Visser.

Volgens Visser, wat tot agt borde ’n naweek verloor, beloop die koste van ’n bord nagenoeg R45 en die raam R50. "Daar word nagenoeg 500 borde per naweek opgesit, waarvan ’n gemiddeld van 10% vernietig word. Dit beloop nogal ’n aardige bedraggie."

Kopano Eiendomme sal R500 betaal aan enige persoon met inligting wat tot die suksesvolle inhegtenisneming van dié vandale kan lei. Skakel Visser by 042 293 1111.
