THE open square and shops at Dolphin Properties and Santa Fe just off Da Gama Road in Jeffreys Bay, have been plagued by vandals the last couple of years.

In the latest incident an unknown man knocked over the fountain just before 20:00 on April 1 - for no apparent reason - after which he left in a hurry.

Just two weeks before that, the security cameras were stolen, says Neels Visser from Dolphin Properties.

Much to the dismay of shop owners, the area is used as public toilets.

Before the installation of the CCTV cameras a year ago, the shops were plagued with robberies. Fortunately, that has now come to an end, says Visser.

“We appeal to the community to assist us in identifying the culprit who has knocked over the fountain,” says Visser. This senseless vandalism must come to an end.”

Anyone with information in this regard or who recognises the man on the photo, are asked to contact the Jeffreys Bay Police Station.
