LEARNERS, teachers and parents from Victory Christian School (VCS) in Jeffreys Bay excelled in their respective fields of discipline - some even making history.

Roland van Wyk and Wessel van Dijk became the very first two VCS rugby players to represent the school in the u.13 EP rugby team.

But the achievements on the rugby field do not end there. Sino Thys, a talented rugby player, was selected for the Kouga u.12 rugby team.

Not to be outdone by the boys, the u.12 netball players represented the school at the EP Netball Championships in East London - another first for the school. They lost by only two goals to the top netball team from East London.

When not standing in front of a full classroom, teacher Jannie Venter lives his passion for athletics. At the recent SA Masters Athle-tics Championships he obtained gold in the 400m and 110m hurdles, as well as bronze in long jump.

Thea Marx, a parent of one of VCS’s learners, obtained gold in five camp.

Both Venter and Marx qualified for the World Championships to be held in Perth Australia at the end of October.
