DURING the July school holidays the Carter KFC Allstar cheerleaders competed against the top 14 schools in the country at the national championships at the Tempe Military Base in Bloemfontein.

The squad that progressed to nationals consisted of 24 girls who had only five months to learn, prepare and compete provincially to qualify for the nationals.

After many hours of training and choreographing, the team set off for Bloemfontein to compete against the top schools in the country.

Although they were not placed in the top five, they enjoyed competing at national level and were proud and honoured to represent the school and province.

Auditions for new members take place this term in preparation for nationals in Gauteng next year.
