THE Dam to Dam canoe race recently took place from Albert Falls to Nagle Dam and was a great success, all thanks to Lucas Mthalane, Kwanda Mhlophe, Thulani Mbanjwa and members of the Lembethe Canoe Club.

This K2 race took place from 24 to 25 October and more than 100 paddlers
participated.

Marshals paddled down with the racers to make sure that everyone was safe along the way.

The weather was good which also made the race fun.

The first team, who won the race, was Len Jenkins and Siseko Ntondini, who won R1 000. Second place went to Ant Stott and Carl Folcher who won R700 and in third place was Craig Heenan and Benjamin Bradford who won R600.

For the ladies’ race, Cana Peek and Kayita came first and Nathasha Bullbring and Christine McKenzie came second.

The Lembethe Canoe Club is hoping for more racers in 2016 and promise bigger prizes for the winners.

The club congratulate all the winners and appreciates everyone who participated in the race and whose who helped in making this race a success.

Club members are now back at the gym training, and looking forward to the Umphetha Race on 8
November. - Supplied.
