DURBAN actor and singer Anthony Stonier will take theatre goers down memory lane with his show The Sound of his Music - Richard Rodgers, at the Hexagon Dive at 7pm for 7.30pm on 24 and 25 July.

Many are familiar with the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, which include Oklahoma!, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music.

Less well-known is an earlier collaboration with lyricist, Lorenz Hart. You may however, recognise Where or When, This Can’t be Love, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, to name a few they wrote together.

The show playlist includes Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!, Some Enchanted Evening, Surrey with a Fringe on Top, Hello Young Lovers, Edelweiss and You’ll Never Walk Alone, among many other well-known and nostalgia-inducing songs.

Stonier is one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most popular singers and actors, and has won best male vocalist at the Durban Theatre Awards three times.

This show sold out at the Hilton Arts Festival in September 2014.

Tickets are R100 (tables seat 10) and patrons are encouraged to take along picnic baskets, but no drinks as there is a cash bar. Booking is via e-mail at hex agon@ukzn.ac.za Doors open at 6.45pm.
