‘Girl Rising’ screening in honour of Women’s Month

2015-08-12 06:00

THE Gift of the Givers Careline will be hosting a viewing of a documentary, Girl Rising, on 18 August at 9.30am in honour of Women’s Month.

The documentary offers viewers the opportunity get to know nine unforgettable girls living in the developing world, ordinary girls who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to pursue their dreams.

It is also about dynamic stories, each one about the power of education to change the future for girls, families, communities and nations.

Women and children are the most vulnerable and suffer untold challenges in society whether in developed or developing countries which may be for political, socio-economic, cultural or religious reasons.

Educating girls can break cycles of poverty in just one generation, yet millions of girls aren’t in school.

Girl Rising is a global action campaign for girls’ education.

To buy a ticket, contact Safwaan or Aqirah at 033 345 0163.

Refreshments will be served.
