DAM to Dam Canoe Race has arrived as paddlers are expected to battle it out this coming weekend from Saturday to Sunday.

This race will start at the Albert Falls Dam and race down to Cumberland Farm on Saturday and then continue on Sunday from Cumberland farm to Nagle Dam. Both these Dams are located in the Mngeni River just outside Pietermaritzburg.

This race has been organised by the Lembethe Canoe club which was formed in the late 90s by the late Robert Lembethe. It is based in the valley of thousand hills at Nagle Dam.

This club has produced household athletes like Thulani Mbanjwa who is the first black man to win the Duzi, Canoe Marathon, Lucas Mthalane, Loveday Zondi and many more.
