Mall to host food festival this weekend

THE Liberty Midlands Mall Food Festival is set to take place this weekend, 5 and 6 September.

Join the food festival and discover perfect fine food, quality family time and the chance to meet celebrities.

Mall visitors will have the bonus of topping up on their culinary know-how and become master chef’s in their kitchens by watching some of the best chefs in the province including Executive Chef Shaun Christian of Granny Mouse, Roxi Wardman, winner of Masterchef South Africa, Alex Poltera­, Executive Chef at Fern Hill Hotel in Hilton and Lee-Anne and Hannah­ Ibbetson also known as Team Sugar and Spice, winners of the Big Cook, Little Cook TV show.

Celebrities who will be teamed up with these super chefs include Terence Pillay, well-known TV personality and journalist, Shirdika Pillay, radio presenter from Lotus FM, Zookey Zarling, radio presenter from Gagasi FM and more, cooking in a state-of-the-art, fully equipped kitchen, sponsored by Aurora Interiors.

Muhammad Varachia, Liberty Midland Mall centre manager, believes the cooking demonstrations and food stalls will tanatalise taste buds, and get everyone excited about cooking.

“The line-up of celebrities will add flavour to the show and keep you entertained,” said Varachia.

There will also be local foodie exhibitors who will showcase their treats - Squirrel nuts, Belgian chocolate house, Romesco olives, Canovi sweets, and more.
