A COLLISION between a taxi and bakkie on Monday morning at the Willowton and Church Road intersection in Northdale left seven people injured.

ER24 paramedics responded and found both vehicles stationary in the middle of the road. Occupants from the wrecked taxi were climbing out of their vehicle.

Paramedics­ discovered that seven people from both vehicles had sustained only minor injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries, which ranged from soft tissue injuries to minor lacerations. Once treated, the patients were transported to Northdale Hospital.

A motorcycle accident at the intersection of Retief and Pietermaritz Street on Monday morning left a man seriously injured. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Netcare 911 paramedics found the man lying on the ground. After they stabilised him at the scene they transported him to hospital.

Seven people were injured after a taxi, bakkie and car collided along Greytown Road on Monday morning.

Netcare 911 paramedics found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles.

The patients were found at the side of the road. After triaging the injured, it was found that five people had escaped with minor injuries while two sustained moderate injuries.

Paramedics stabilised the injured before they transported them to various hospitals.

A man sustained critical injuries in a truck accident along Market Street near the traffic offices on Monday morning. A report from the scene indicates that a truck veered across the centre median and slammed into the side of another truck. Netcare 911 paramedics, the fire department and other services found the critically injured man trapped in the wreckage . While firemen used the jaws of life to free the man medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilise him.

After 45 minutes rescuers freed the wounded man, medics immobilised him on a trauma board before he was removed from the wreckage.

After he was placed on a ventilator, a Netcare advanced life support paramedic accompanied the patient to hospital
