THE Creative Arts College (Cac) is a specialist training institute focusing on the creative media and broadcasting sector.

The institution is a port of entry into the industry and is accredited with the education and training division of the South African Film Institute.

It offers credit-bearing SAQA qualifications through the quality assuring media, information, communication, technology - sector education and training authority (Mict-Seta).

The Mict-Seta falls under the authority of the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations, which is one of the three councils that make up the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Cac extends an invitation to prospective students and their parents to visit the college to get a first-hand experience of what the creative media and broadcasting sector has to offer.

The college offers courses in film, music, journalism, graphic design, animation, fashion, radio production and advertising.

The creative media and broadcasting industries are booming with opportunity, especially since the world’s migration from analogue to digital, creating a vast amount of opportunity across all related sectors.

Most of the world’s population now relies on the media to source photographs, news, music and films.

The world will eventually see a host of new television channels and radio stations emerging as a result of the developing broadcasting spectrum. This will create many opportunities for creative media practitioners.

Creative Arts College students have the advantage of working in an environment that replicates the industry.

With the courses having a strong practical focus, students are afforded the opportunity of working with other departments for certain projects, guided by lecturers who are qualified and experienced in the related industries.

Students work with industry standard equipment and studios to bridge the gap from the classroom to the industry.

The college’s association with numerous industry aligned companies and government departments further ensures exposure, opportunity and growth.

Creative Arts College has set up a new campus in Pietermaritzburg in the Victoria Road Shopping Centre, offering an exciting and attractive facility.

If you wish to pursue a career in the creative media sector, phone 081 589 1088 or 031 301 3313 to book your place.

Due to the practical nature of the courses, places are limited.
